A very warm welcome to the first Fashion Fabulous London blog. If you haven’t heard of Fashion Fabulous London, then listen-up! – it’s the must-have new guide to the best fashion hot-spots in and around London. Think of it as the essential fashion bible – a handy and easy-to-read fashion guidebook that’s packed with everything you need to know about the capital’s fashion outlets, stores and trends.

But first things first – introductions.

World, meet the authors Tracy and Russell Rose. Tracy and Russell Rose, meet World.

So who are we? Let’s start with me, Tracy.

I’m one of Britain’s leading milliners and my creations are among the most photographed in the world. I know that may sound a little big-headed (no pun intended), but there you go! For the past few years, I’ve worked hard to build a solid reputation in the industry, and continue to do so. My hats have been in a variety of outlets around the UK, and I’m lucky to have an enviable – and discerning – client base in cities including London, New York and Los Angeles. I’m perhaps best-known for appearances at Royal Ascot, and for the entrance hats I produce. In June 2008, you may have read about my Ascot Convertible dress. It achieved worldwide media coverage and, so I’m told, changed ‘Ascot fashion history’. Hurrah!

OK, CV over – here’s how I made my foray into the fashion industry…

If you listen to the media, I have a “natural gift” for understanding the “golden structural balance of hats”. I’m not really sure what this means, but I’m delighted to say some of the biggest names in fashion like my work. The designer Zandra Rhodes called my creations ‘fantastic’, while the Daily Mail said my designs ‘turn heads’. The Express said they left “other [hats] in the shade”, while the Sunday Times described one Royal Ascot design thus: “What a dish to set before the Queen”.

In total, over the last four years I’ve had more than 200 media features about the creations, and almost 100 TV broadcasts. Not bad for a self-taught designer!

Fashion Fabulous London…and Me.

Good things come to those who wait – or so they say – and Fashion Fabulous London is no exception. I’ve worked as a fashion contributor on a string of fashion magazines, and my foray into guidebook production was a (scary) but obvious next step.

So, that’s me, Tracy Rose. I’ll hand over to:

Me, Russell Rose.

Hi all, and thanks for reading. I’m looking forward to getting to know you over coming months and, I hope, you’ll feel the same about me!

Well, who am I? In addition to being Tracy’s husband – the biggest accolade of all – I’m also her business partner. Specifically, I’m the co-editor of Fabulous Fashion London and I’m over-the-moon about how the series is progressing. Rather than bore you with lots of information about me, I thought it best to let you know about something really exciting – the guidebook itself.

So what is Fashion Fabulous London?

Fashion Fabulous London is the new fashion guidebook. It features in-depth reviews of London’s top 200 shops and boutiques and is packed with up-to-date information about the very latest fashion trends. From Bond Street to Brick Lane, Fashion Fabulous London also includes more than 60 ‘must-visit’ stores.

It was launched during London Fashion Week at Sushinho on the King’s Road. Guests included celebrities and designers from the Fashion Fabulous London Top 200 shops, and a constellation of fashionistas.

Here’s what else Fashion Fabulous London contains:

  • Shops – the eagerly awaited shortlist of top fashion shops
  • Budget – the best places to shop for fashion during the recession
  • Retail chains – the secrets of the high streets
  • Fashion Events –  including guide to public open days at London Fashion Week
  • Charity Shops – the thrift shop scene and the best places for bargains
  • Courses – list of fashion courses in London
  • Fashion Cafes and restaurants –  be seen in the places the fashionistas frequent
  • Markets – a full listing of the capital’s clothes markets
  • Totally Independent In-Depth Reviews

Tracy and I have researched the very best fashion outlets across the capital, and we want to share that information with you. That’s why we’ve launched this blog – to provide you, our readers and (soon-to-be) friends, with regular updates and plenty of fashion news and reviews.

So that’s who we are, your loyal fashion bloggers Tracy and Russell Rose. Until our next post, we’d love to hear from you. Maybe you’re an aspiring designer that would like to talk ‘shop’. Perhaps you’re a boutique that’s about to open or an existing one that’s re-locating or doing something fabulous that you want to share . Either way, feel free to drop us an email at tracyroselondon@btinternet.com .

We look forward to hearing from you!

Best wishes,

Us x
