Curvenetic Face Exercise ImageFacial exercises are proving to be a big hit with fashionistas at the moment. One set that has been very successful for many years are those developed by Curvenetics UK. With Curvenetics the muscles of the face are exercised precisely with tiny movements for superb facial conditioning. They do not stretch the skin.

The benefits that you get from facial exercises are very different from those of skincare products. Skincare products act just on the skin and not the muscles. Curvenetic face exercises complement the benefits of skincare products such as high quality creams, leaving you with a well-textured, well- toned healthier looking face. As a natural, non-surgical technique it ticks all the right boxes:

√ Keeps facial muscles taut

√ Helps reduce lines

√ Helps reduce wrinkles

√ Maintains youthful look

√ Tones face

√ Improves texture

√ Complements skincare products

London Fashion Week famed for its womenswear catwalks also feature a selected number of outstanding menswear shows. This is a new designer and was one of the best! Harry Xu’s show at Fashion Scout, Covent Garden had a  vision attempting to symbolise the conflict between reality and fantasy explored through a journey from teenage street-style to modern society mature man.

Here are our highlights: Among the key designs were the paired-three graduated sized pockets featured on coats and jackets (see above).

teatum-jones-ss17

See Now! Buy Now! Was the new fashion runway concept to hit many London Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2017 collections from big brands such as Burberry through to retailers such as Oliver Spencer and emerging brands like Helter. First up, Rennie Mackintosh’s watercolour paintings inspired Teatum Jones’s LFW show at BFC Space, Soho, London (pictured above). Teatum Jones as did many others followed the traditional route of previewing for SS17.

027-1

We loved the Rohmir show at Fashion Scout, Freemasons Hall, Covent Garden. On Rohmir’s catwalk the English Country House was the source of inspiration with a large collection of glamorous yet well-behaved sophisticated dresses. Lots of florals from Liberty-style small prints to bolder painterly prints for daywear and evening were in evidence. Tweeds on dresses and suits were edged with feathers  Designer Olga Roh did a great job and we are great fans of her Maddox Street boutique just off Bond Street.

Here are few more of our favourite shots we saw at the show:

DSCN5230-1Tracy at Rick Owens party in Selfridges – it had an out of this world atmosphere!

Our third and final party of night was at the Rick Owens party at Selfridges where the avant-garde came out in force. Held in the garage, fashion designers included Gareth Pugh as well as Alexa Chung and pop diva Paloma Faith. Completely filled with smoke as we entered, we nearly walked into a brick wall thanks to the foggy mist! Walking into the main area we saw people walking towards us out of the mist like a scene out of Close Encounters of The Third Kind! Hard edged club music and white parallel beams created a super cool atmosphere. Also floating around was Edie Campbell and Lindsay Lohan. Great party and great finish to the second day of London Fashion Week!

DSCN5145-1Felder Felder, Christopher Raeburn, Fyodor Golan and Eudon Choi were just a few of the wonderful headline catwalk fashion shows at the first day of London Fashion Week on 12th September 2014. We’ve been going to London Fashion Week for fifteen years and over the years seen many amazing shows, presentations, interviewed inspiring designers and had the pleasure of attending lots of great parties! Here are some the highlights of our first day at London Fashion Week…

Emerging Portuguese designer João Melo Costa produced impressive multicoloured effects (above ).

??????????Felder Felder’s collection was hot, wearable and full of panache! Designer twins Daniela and Annette used German model Veruschka von Lehndorff as their muse.  We adored the flamingo pinks and blues!

DSCN5156-1Felder Felder models sashayed down the runway in micro-minis slit at the front or skater. Maxis were slashed to the thigh.

DSCN5154-1Felder Felder focused on animal and floral prints.  This very popular brand is available at many stores throughout London.

DSCN5149-1Fashion Fabulous’s Tracy Rose at the Felder Felder Show, Somerset House, Strand, London. Also watching the show was Millie Mackintosh, Rosie Fortescue, Donna Air and Laura Whitmore.

DSCN5171-1Another marvellous collection for SS15 for Christopher Raeburn – fashion show at LFW! We loved the mix of fighter pilot suits with silk organza re-fashioned in to dresses, jackets and separates. Christopher Raeburn is available at Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge.

DSCN5170-1…. More Christopher Raeburn!

DSCN5116-1Faustine Steinmetz gave a cool collection at the Institute of Contemporary Arts. Each piece is unique and hand-made. Weaving is used to create remarkable fringed and raw edged effects!

DSCN5115-1…Another great Faustine Steinmetz creation!

Temperley AW14 image 2-1In this second part of our star picks from London Fashion Week  whatever your style there will be a lot to look forward this coming Autumn and Winter. Temperley London (pictured above) presented a broad selection of styles and colour palettes many featuring hues of blue. Hemlines were floor  or thigh skimming with looks finished off with large attractive scarves – a definite trend that will prove very popular!

DSCN4578Zeynep Tosun at the Fashion Scout venue, Freemasons Hall, Covent Garden showed her “Oxidised” collection featuring  rust, cinnamon, misty blues and greys for her autumnal colour range. Brocade, wool crepe and leather were fashioned into layered dresses with large high collars, oversized coats and bomber jackets.

??????????London based designer Cassie Sneglar showed a very likeable confident easy-going collection at Mishkins, New York deli restaurant at 25 Catherine Street, Covent Garden… And her label?   Caslazur  It’s one to watch!

DSCN4591-3Hemyca  showed an excellent afternoon presentation at the BFC Space at Somerset House and it was great to meet up with designers Myra Nigris and Helen Clinch again. We felt this was their best collection to date featuring dresses with leather details accentuating the waist on soft wool fabrics. We loved the midnight blues and moonstone silvers. Coats and capes were particularly outstanding. Hemyca is available by appointment at their studio in Chelsea, London. Another great label to watch!

DSCN4592-1Surrealist artist Salvador Dali continues to inspire designers. Liz Black showed a surreal lip skirted dress very much in the Dali vein!

Fyodor Golan gave a super shiny catwalk show. PVC in black, shocking pink and pewter formed the fabric of an edgy statement-wear
collection.
DSCN4593-1Anna Sekularac at the showrooms at Somerset House showed a very pretty handmade capsule collection made from wool and silk organza. Some also included cashmere. It’s a preview of what’s going to be in the new Layers shop.

DSCN4605-1Tata Naka’s collection was inspired by interior designed wallpapers and carpets. For their current collection pop along to Mania Mia, 307 New King’s Road, London SW6.

DSCN4518-1Zeynep Kartel  at Fashion Scout, Freemasons Hall, Covent Garden showed a high glam collection of golds and  pewters inspired apparently by Manchester Town Hall. Here’s a burgundy jump suit from the collection which we particularly liked. Zeynep Kartel catwalk revealed some great shimmering eveningwear gowns that will certainly appeal to women’s red carpet desires.

DSCN4529Nico Didonna from Soho, London, showed a very wearable collection of both women’s and menswear over at the The Bloomsbury Set Event, at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, 235 Shaftsbury Avenue, London WC2.  A highlight was the feminine wrapover eveningwear that draped flatteringly over the body and was cut thigh-high. It certainly appealed greatly to Nancy Dell’Olio celebrity and socialite who was sitting in the front row. Nadia Minkoff designed handbags specially for this collection that are also on sale at Nico Didonna’s shop at 16a D’Arblay Street, London W1F 8EA.

Peter Pilotto-1Peter Pilotto produced one of our favourite collections for the autumn capturing burgundies, blues, and pinks executed in very clever geometric patterns to dramatically flatter the body. This successful brand is extensively available in major London stores and boutiques.
